This Saturday I was lucky enough to be a part of Elissa and Rory's Lord of the Rings themed Wedding at Angel Springs Event Center, and it was BEYOND fun! On the drive up to Georgetown, the morning sky was already full of dark clouds, and I heard that it was definitely going to be a rainy day. Still, Elissa, my meteorologist bride, seemed to enjoy the idea of a thunderstorm wedding. At one point, she even told me that if a tornado comes around we would have to go out and take pictures with it! Her groom later confirmed that when we went out for pictures and he saw the gloomy sky. I enjoy dark rainy days myself, but these two would be on their own if a tornado showed up!
Even though the thunder continued throughout afternoon and the rain was near, one of my favorite parts of the day was being able to have fun with their bridal party portraits outside. Since they were both archers, we came up with some fun poses to really utilize their love for the sport! Being huge Lord of the Rings fans was just a bonus on top, as Elissa held up her bow looking the part of an Elvish Queen! Rory was clearly having fun, joking around the whole time as well. I couldn't have asked for a more fun couple to spend the day with.
Elissa and Rory, I wish you all the best on your journey. The love I saw between you two and the stories I heard throughout the night truly made me believe that you two are perfect for each other. I am so thankful that you chose me to be your photographer. I never thought I would find myself standing just out of reach of a drawn arrow aiming for the stars!
